CompArch is a federated conference series bringing together researchers and practitioners from Component-Based Software Engineering and Software Architecture. Comparch 2011 is co-located with WICSA 2011. The call for proposals is available as a PDF.

Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit their papers to the new Section on "Software Architecture" of the Journal of Systems and Software.

The conference will be held at the University of Colorado - Boulder in the United States, June 20th - 24th, 2011.

CBSE 2011: 14th International ACM Sigsoft Symposium on Component Based Software Engineering

Sponsored by ACM SIGSOFT
Component-based Software Engineering (CBSE) continues to attract interest and evolve as a discipline for the rapid assembly of flexible software systems. The CBSE symposium has emerged as the flagship research event for the component community. CBSE 2011 encompasses research (theoretical and applied) that extends the state of the art in component-based engineering, which combines elements of software requirements engineering, architecture, design, verification, testing, configuration and deployment. Experience reports, empirical studies and presentation of component-based benchmarks and case studies are also within scope.

New trends in global services, distributed systems architectures, dynamic adaptable systems, and large scale software systems often cross organizational boundaries and push the limits of established component-based methods, tools and platforms. Innovative solutions from diverse paradigms (e.g., service-, aspect-, and agent-oriented) are needed to address these emerging trends. To foster exchange and collaboration with the software architecture community, CBSE is part of the federated CompArch event.

QoSA 2011: 7th ACM Sigsoft International Conference on the Quality of Software Architectures

Sponsored by ACM SIGSOFT
The goal of QoSA (Quality of Software Architectures) is to address aspects of software architecture focusing broadly on quality characteristics and how these relate to the design of software architectures. Specific issues of interest are defining quality measures, evaluating and managing architecture quality, linking architecture to requirements and implementation, and preserving architecture quality throughout the lifetime of the system. This year, the main topic of QoSA is architectures for adaptive software systems. Technical reports both on scientific novel results and industrial case studies are welcome.

Dates: June 21-23, 2011
Program Co-Chairs: Dorina Petriu, Jens Happe
Submission deadline: February 18, 2011 -- Extended until February 25, 2011

ISARCS 2011: 2nd ACM SigSoft International Symposium on Architecting Critical Systems

Sponsored by ACM SIGSOFT
ISARCS is a new symposium in the area of architectural design for dependable, safe and secure systems, which would be an exclusive forum for exchanging views on the theory and practice for architecting critical systems. A critical system is characterized by the perceived severity of consequences that system failures may cause. In that respect, in addition to appropriate development methods, techniques and tools, a critical system also requires the provision of assurances that it is able to fulfil its specified service.

Dates: June 21-23, 2011
Program Chair: Paola Inverardi
Submission deadline: January 31, 2011

WCOP 2011: 16th International Workshop on Component-Oriented Programming

WCOP has been a successful and steady event at ECOOP since 1996. After successfully joining the CompArch federated event in 2008 - 2010, WCOP 2011 will again join CompArch. In the frame of the CompArch 2011 conference, the Workshop on Component Oriented Programming (WCOP) is organized as a Doctoral Symposium for young researchers in the area of component based software engineering, software architecture and software quality.

Date: June 20 & 22, 2011
Program Co-Chairs: Ralf Reussner, Wolfgang Weck, Clemens Szyperski, Barbora Buhnova
Submission deadline: February 25, 2011 Extended until March 21, 2011
